Milton Keynes is to get automated driverless cars, known as ‘pods’, which will ferry people around on designated pathways. These will be booked using a smartphone app.

Researchers have found a new knee ligament, the anteriolateral ligament or ALL. This runs from the thigh to the shinbone, and could protect the knee joint when people twist or change direction.

A dog can learn how another dog feels by the direction that its tail wags. A wag that tends to the left suggests anxiety, and one to the right suggests happiness, though it’s unlikely that we will spot it because the wag is too fast.

Three species of dung beetles gallop rather than run, and this isn’t seen in other insects. Most insects move three legs at a time, in what us known as an ‘alternate tripod gait’.
